Description:
The Syndicat Mixte Entre Pic et Etang (SMEPE) exercises waste treatment competence for the 6 member groups of municipalities: Community of Agglomeration of Pays de l'Or; Community of Municipalities of Grand Pic St Loup; Community of Agglomeration of Lunel; Community of Communes Rhôny Vistre Vidourle; Community of Communes of the Pays de Sommières; Community of Communes Terre de Camargue. Its territory brings together 89 municipalities representing approximately 223,000 sedentary inhabitants of the South-East sector of Hérault and the South-West sector of Gard. The waste collected by the various groups reaches the treatment facilities under service contract with the Union. Thus, the plants are collected through a network of 27 recycling centers and collection points. They then enter the field of intervention of the Union, responsible for processing them.
