Description:
The verification of the extinction equipment is compulsory for the employer and must be carried out at least once a year. This annual visit is above all preventive to check in particular the installation, condition, accessibility and signage of the device.
In addition to an annual verification,Fire extinguishers are subject to five -year maintenance during which the provider changes certain parts of the equipment (safety pin, load renewal etc.).
The main extinguisher agents are: water, powder and CO2. The lifespan of a fire extinguisher is 20 years. ForSafety reasons, RTE decided to follow the APSAD recommendation by replacing any fire extinguisher after 10 years.
All maintenance activity is carried out by a competent person whose company is holding the certificate plenary assembly companies damage insurance (APSAD).
