Description : This procurement takes place within the HPCQS project, funded by the EuroHPC Joint Undertaking (JU) and the participating member states in equal parts, under the call EuroHPC-2020-01-b. It involves two public procurers, GENCI and Forschungszentrum Jülich GmbH (FZJ), located in France and Germany, respectively, which work together in a joint procurement. GENCI is the lead procurer appointed to lead the procedure for selecting the contractor for each lot. The goal of each public procurer is to buy one 100+ qubits (quantum bits) quantum simulator that will be tightly integrated with its Tier-0 supercomputer. These systems are expected to be delivered latest at the end of 2023. In addition, these two hybrid (HPC+quantum) systems should allow the development of prototypes for scientific and industrial applications, including but not limited to, machine learning and optimizations. Furthermore, these systems are intented to address common innovation topics.
