Esterel Cote d'Azur agglomeration exercises competence Management of aquatic environments and flood prevention (GEMAPI) on its territory. In this context, she piloted studies related to action n 44, listed in the Argens and coastal coastal prevention action program (PAPI). Action n 44 concerns a renaturation program Ecological and morphological, aimed at reducing the risk of flooding on the watersheds of the Garonne, Pedegal and Valescure. The main objectives are as follows:
- Ensure and maintain the quality of water and environments, in accordance with the Directorate of Development and Management Water, on very heterogeneous rivers modified by human activity.
- Reduce the risk of flooding, especially in the urban areas of Frejus and Saint-Raphael, by optimizing the areas of flood expansion.
The preliminary study of this action, finalized in 2023, is made up of following missions:
- environmental analysis;
- hydromorphological diagnosis;
- Hydraulic analysis (hill runoff, urban runoff and operation of rivers);
