The structural delay in the construction of production, potabilization and water distribution infrastructure in the Mayotte territory, combined with very strong growth in water demand, regularly generates water shortages since 2016.

The production capacity of water productionTo human consumption remains insufficient with regard to the daily need estimated at 46,000m3/day.
