Description:
As part of its research for sodium-cooled fast neutron reactors (SFR) and more particularly sodium-cooled fast reactors (FNR-Na), the CEA studies and qualifies the technologies, and in particular, the mitigation and the associated calculation tools, cagainst the risk of serious accident. To do this, the SAIGA program carried out in Kazakhstan in the IGR (Impulse Graphite Reactor) of the NNC-RK (National Nuclear Center of the Republic of Kazakhstan) research center, consists of an experimental test to simulate an accidental loss coolingdissement on two needle assemblies at a representative neutron power, with corium propagation. As part of carrying out this test, the CEA requires the acquisition of refractory thermocouples capable of measuring temperatures up to more than 1700C.
