Description : This procurement takes place within the HPCQS project (https://www.hpcqs.eu), funded by the EuroHPC Joint Undertaking (JU) and the participating member states in equal parts, under the call EuroHPC-2020-01-b. It involves two public procurers, GENCI and Forschnungszentrum Jûlich (FZJ), located in France and Germany, respectively, which work together in a joint procurement. The purpose of the procurement is, for each public procurer, to buy one 100+ qubits (quantum bits) quantum simulator that will be tightly integrated with its Tier-0 supercomputer. These systems are expected to be deployed at the end of 2022. In addition, these two hybrid (HPC+quantum) systems should allow prototyping scientific and industrial applications including but not limited to, machine learning and optimizations. These systems are furthermore supposed to address common topics of innovation.
