Impact of the assimilation of satellite observations of surface current velocities in the new global ocean analysis and forecast system from Mercator Ocean: updating of experiments and improvement of the assimilation scheme
The market has for the purpose of carrying out a service of whichthe objective is to produce and analyze simulations with assimilation of simulated surface current velocities, such as those that will be observed by satellite. The analysis of these simulations must make it possible to evaluate the constraint brought by the assimilation of such data on analyzesits and ocean forecasts on a global scale. The impact of the assimilation of this data on the different variables of the model will be studied and diagnostics showing the benefit on Lagrangian type applications will be put in place.
