ENGLISHUNESCO's Global Media Defence Fund is now accepting proposals for its 6th Call for Partnerships, open from 4 November 2025 to 2 January 2026 (23:59 UTC+1).This Call seeks to provide financial support to local, regional, and global not-for profit organizations for the implementation of project contributing to bolstering journalists' legal safety and advancing media freedom through investigative journalism and strategic litigation.An indicative budget of $800,000 USD will be awarded to support meaningful action that helps break the cycle of impunity for crimes against journalists, distributed in grants ranging from $15,000 to $50,000 USD (estimated number of grants: 16 to 25).Proposed projects must contribute to at least one of the following GMDF Outputs: Output 2: Rapid legal assistance and mechanisms to enhance journalists- legal protection Output 3: Investigative journalism to reduce impunity Output 4: Strategic litigation to enhance media freedomPlease refer to the Call-s Base Document and the relevant Annexes (all available below) for detailed information on the terms and conditions of the Call, examples of eligible activities, and guidelines on how to apply.
