Description:
Countries implementingcarbon market mechanisms under the Paris Agreement increasingly require robust,interoperable, and transparent registry systems. These registries must interactwith domestic MRV systems, national policy and processes, internationalmechanisms (Article 6.2, Article 6.4, AEF), and voluntary carbon markets. Atthe same time, global data standards, safeguards requirements, and digital MRVinnovations are rapidly evolving, requiring up-to-date guidance that incorporateslessons learned from early moving countries and emerging international bestpractices.The World Bank together with partners will develop a Carbon Registry Toolkit to guide policymakers, registry administrators, technical teams, among others, through the full set of decisions required to design, develop, procure, or adapt a registry. This assignment aims to produce an integrated, modular toolkit capturing policy, functional, technical, data, governance, integrity, and information security dimensions to establish a registry.
