Description: Civil society Synchrotron Soleil, under the supervision of the CNRS and the CEA, located in Gif-sur-Yvette (Essonne 91), is a very large research infrastructure using synchrotron radiation to study the properties of matter. For the part of its particle accelerator, Soleil has a requirement for the study and manufacture of a high voltage modulator to power a klystron of the "linac" pre-injector of Soleil. This comprises two accelerating structures of 50 MeV in S band at 3 Ghz, supplied with HF power with a klystron pulsed by a High voltage (HT) modulator. The two HV modulators in service consist of a delay line discharged by a Thyratron. Soleil wishes to acquire a third HV modulator in "Solid-State" technology which will serve to ensure operational redundancy, with the long-term objective of also replacing the other two devices.
